Nirantara Dasa was born May 20, 1950 and given the name Nicholas. He attended Catholic grammar and high schools in Long Island, then dropped out of College to†avidly pursue a music career in Greenwich Village, New York City.†However, he†was finding frustration in his life due to lost love and disappointment in his search to become the next "Elvis". At the age of 22 he received his first introduction to transcendental knowledge by receiving a small booklet written by his future guru, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. Within one year he decided to give up all other aspirations and devote himself to serving his spiritual master's mission, ISKCON. From 1973 till 1980 he traveled throughout the United States distributing transcendental literature. In 1980 he married Varuni Dasi and from that point he began his own unique personal preaching mission. That mission is dedicated to preaching the teachings of "Bhaktivedanta"†but making it easily accessible and†fun. Since 1994, Nirantara D‰sa has been mostly doing seminars in people's homes every weekend in the Southern California area. Since 1999 he has been exporting his style of preaching to places such as Panama,† Santiago, Chile, Bangalore, South India and Durban, South Africa.  Nirantara D‰sa†is also†known globally for his song writing, where he sings the message of "Bhaktivedanta" in the style and mood of John Lennon/Bob Dylan. When he comes to the point when he can no longer actively preach by live performance, he will write books based on his experiences and realizations.
