Yogi

Steve Ross, Yogi has practiced various styles of yoga for his entire adult life and after success playing rock’n roll, has been an instructor for over twenty years. He has explored the physical aspects of yoga as well as the philosophical and spiritual roots of yoga. He spent four years as a monk in the Vedic tradition, and since that time, he has ceaselessly sought out and reveled in the presence of some of the most notable masters of our time - in India and elsewhere.

Author of “Happy Yoga,” Steve combines upbeat, inspirational music with a relaxed, easy spirituality that make his classes at MahaYoga some of the most popular in Los Angeles and wherever his travels take him. His events are ecstatic. His retreats are well known to produce a blissful state of being. His belief is that the true goal of yoga is the permanent and unbroken awareness of the deepest joy and happiness possible (called ananda or bliss). This bliss is not the result of some progressive path, based on techniques and elaborate practices. It is our very nature right now - - and always.

In order to access this bliss, and realize our identity with it, one must free up a sufficient amount of energy and attention from the "normal" distractions in order to realize existence as inherent unconditional happiness. www.mahayoga.com
